Hi I have been looking for a nursing job in ICU for a few months. I have a lot of experience but am having a hard time getting an interview or getting hired. Is there a glut of ICU RNs? There are many postings on the denver health site only one interview so far with no offer. Any advice? thanks

In my experience critical care (ICU, ER, etc) nurses have had the easiest time finding jobs. Unfortunately, many facilities have made staff cuts; but this won't last. It can't. Hang in there and keep your options open. A nurse with your skill set can work in any number of settings. Don't stand on the sidelines . After all, you'll need to keep your skills sharp and the lights on

Hello Kim: If you're heading to Colorado, you'll love it. The weather is beautiful all the time. The sun shines every day and makes it feel that much warmer and of course sunshine is therapeutic for mind, body and spirit. Don't be scared. Just do it. In my opinion, it's one of America's "best kept secrets". Just see for yourself. Enjoy.
